TWO ARTWORK IMAGES AND TEXTURE ON NEW DEVELOPED MODEL

Image of underground texture, including the 2 artworks. 'Sparkles' texture was used on the strips of the expanding sides to emphasize it's readiness for a vigorous explosion. Also, to demonstrate the fragile and caution Fiona Hall takes when she designed her thinly twirly branches for her flowers in her artwork. The flowers in Fiona Halls artwork have a 'rough', 'spiral' texture, which i thought that 'speckles' texture i created was best to represent this because it also possesses the properties of 'roughness' and spiral.

Fiona Hall's artwork is seen in the underground of the above image.

A mid shot containing the texture for above/below ground, both stairs and the artwork of 'Moffat' above ground.

Side view shot showing the two textures used for the above ground. Firstly, the texture 'bumpy' was used on the outside walls of the above ground model to emphasize the curves and represent the noun 'Women' for Moffat's artwork. The second texture used was for the insides of the model. The insides were designed to show their adjustable elastic properties as it would follow the outside curves. The texture is called 'flexible'.

YOUTUBE VIDEO UPLOAD - SPIRAL STAIRCASE

Spiral Staircase made out of concreate. Similar to the staircase i used for the upperground of my model for the noun 'women'

MATERIALS/METHODS USED BY HALL/MOFFAT
MOFFAT
Materials: Imagery (Photographs), Airbrush, Film, Video
Method: Raw Basic Principles of the design in the artwork, come from the aspects of sex, violence and prejudice. Photograph taking. Still images were also taken from film. Airbrush applied there after. Black/White shading applied to particular areas of the Artwork. Produced by artistic decors. Collaboration/Combination and splitting of varying images.
HALL
Materials: Fine detail painting, yellow 'soaping', imagery, Physical forms - branching of the leaves - shredded bank notes (branching)
Method: Etching and drawing. Painting, Sculpturing, garden design. Hall followed the basic ideologies of Australian life style when creating this artwork which followed the concepts of globalisation and contempt Lifestyle and the natural elements of history. Displaying the interrelationship between nature and humans. Painting on shredded bank notes (gold) to produce twirling expanding branches.

MODEL IMAGES
These images represent my old model. After consultation with my tutor, i had to change the underground to a more influential 3d model rather then extruding it. Same with the above ground. The stair images are also my first old model which i ended up hating it because it just didn't fit with my overall model (However, the underground stairs uses the same concept in my new model of the stairs - expanding)

STAIR IMAGES

Follows the shape of a shoe, as a shoe has curves that could symbolize a women. Original materials: Timber flooring, thin steel poles for support
UPPER GROUND

These stairs represent the 'expansion' description i used for Hall's work. The stairs gradually expand to a wider ending, which could be seen with the flowers expanding out of the tuna box in Fiona's artwork. Original materials: timber and many thin delicate timber poles for support
UNDERGROUND

NEW MODEL IMAGES
As seen in the above image, my objective for underground was to achieve the best possible method in representing a continuous expansion. The thin walls, start at the tip (bottom) and gradually increase to a more larger degree. The other technique i attempted to achieve was through the sharp objects that start from the bottom of the tip. The sizes ranges, where two of the larger objects, try to 'force' there way into the above ground. The materials that will be used would be glass for the sharp objects, timber for the expanding walls (as Fiona Hall uses a variety of natural elements in her artwork from the environment) and marble tiles for the floor.

Underground stair image: The stairs used for underground virtually uses the same concept as the first stairs i created. The stairs start from the first level of the underground to the floor level. Materials:Golden timber stairs, thin metal poles for support

Far view of the whole 'developing' model

Upper ground image: The noun 'women' from Moffat's work was used to develop the the above ground model. The representation of curves to illustrate 'women' was the best option i had to choose from, one of the principles Moffat uses in her artwork (sex, violence and prejudice). The curves within the outside further enhances the concept of trajectory. Materials: Glass for particular walls, tiling, timber and steel rods for support.

STAIRS (NEW)
Above ground stairs: Spiral like structure with 3/4 of a circle as stepping and thin rods for support. Purposely designed platforms to sit on a slant to express that curves are not limited, they have different forms. Materials: Wooden platforms and steel rods for support.
The stairs gradually become wider.
